A story that begins with a novelist seeking inspiration takes lots of twists and turns as he settles in Berlin, Germany. There he meets people who affect his life and influence his next story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The songs and music in the show did a ton to provide the audience with a sense of the world of the play and the dreams or beliefs of the characters. The characters in the Cabaret<\/em> would sing about the desires they were yearning for. Frau Schneider and Herr Shultz would sing about their love for each other and the optimistic future of their engagement. Until the Nazi and his supporters sang a song about their pride for their beliefs. These are just two examples of songs that characters sang to express their dreams or beliefs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theatre where the performance was held in.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The set transitioned to show different places inside the Berlin setting in a very creative way. They had people literally turn the sets from the nightclub to the housing complex and to the train. This allowed for the transition from scene to scene to be smooth and fast. The costumes also gave a sense of the different beliefs and attitudes of the characters. For example, Sally Bowles wore dark-colored lingerie when she was in the nightclub and working towards her career. But when she was with the novelist, her lover, she wore more appropriate clothing with brighter colors to signify her hope and attitude for a possible future with a loving husband and a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story of this performance was great and attention-grabbing. From the characters we all meet and grow to understand to the twists of the story, it was very well done.
