It’s obvious that generations have very strong opinions about each other, but what really is the difference between Millennials and Baby Boomers? Is it different morals? Different ways of thinking? Is it that one generation thinks that the only way to do things is the way that they do it? I talked with both Millennials and Baby Boomers to get their opinion on whether or not they think the “other side” had/has it any better.
Baby Boomers Views of Millennials:
When asked if he thinks that Millennial’s contributions to society are positive, the man on the street stressed that there are increasing opportunities and technology that helps millennials reach the true potential that Baby Boomers might not have been able to realize. More jobs are created every day, along with more opportunities to obtain jobs and make money.
Millennials Views of Baby Boomers:

The Millennial I interviewed was very insistent that while technology has made life easier and more social for this generation, older generations had lower costs for goods and services, including a college education. Baby Boomers were able to save up for college easily and it was customary to have a college education, but now only few are lucky enough to obtain a college degree.

The Similarities:

Both generations agreed that the other generation had it easier. Millennials agree that Baby Boomers paid less money to get an education, but Baby Boomers agree that there’s so much more technology available to Millennials'that there’s no excuse to not become the best you that you can be.

Although most Millennials are only just graduating from high school or college, we are already changing the world and how it works. A study showed that about 35% of millennials have “started their own side business to generate more income.” All generations obviously want the best for America and the world. The pointless stigmatism against the younger generations from the older generations, and vice versa, is part of what’s tearing this country apart. Hopefully someday we can realize that we all have the same goal in mind. That we need to make life better for everyone.

REFLECTION
This past three days I have learned so much. I have learned that when writing a news article, pictures can tell a story just as much as the words can. I learned how to use programs that actual journalists use on the job. I know how to organize my thoughts and make my words have the most possible impact that they can. I know now how to take the best possible photos I can.
