Director Dominic Dromgoole gives a different, modern take on the famous story of Romeo and Juliet.

By Moises Sedano

While Dromgoole's take on Romeo and Juliet is the same as the original by William Shakespeare, his version takes a more comedic approach. This approach was very enjoyable. There were moments where the characters would say or perform something funny that would even get me laughing! The 'Do you bite your thumb at me?' scene was hilarious and performed well by the actors. Their interactions were spot on for the dramatic and comedic take.

The production was great as the stage used for this play was huge. I have never seen a stage that big before. The outfits worn by the actors were so well done and realistic for that time. The stage design was amazing with all the props and buildings used. A lot of hard work went into this play and it paid off! I very much enjoyed the show!
