Negative Space, directed by Mole Wetherell, is a genre-mixing play that will leave the audience with a ton of emotions and questions.

Negative Space is a different kind of play in the sense that it leaves the audience to interpret what is going on and the meaning of it all. It takes place in a white box with people coming in and out of it. The characters don't speak but interact with each other through their motions and facial expressions. The show combines comedy, horror, and love with the characters displaying it all. It's truly a different kind of show making it more intriguing.

It starts out with the characters trying to escape the box they are trapped in but just keep on returning to it, this is how I interpreted it at least. This leads to the destruction of the room they're in. I felt that the meaning behind the show is that everyone feels stuck in life in one way or another. This leads to everyone doing whatever they can to break out of their box and experience the life they want. Whether it be breaking out of the office and into the world, exploring and visiting new sites. The show, to me, is about breaking out of your cage and letting your wings fly.
