Natural Sound Piece – Lincoln Avenue Traffic

When I was shooting this piece, I got very lucky. As I was walking to record at the fire station, the alarm sounded and the trucks were blazing trails (no pun intended). Additionally, it was interesting to walk around and find traffic, which wasn’t hard! I had a great time shooting this and even though I got a lot of weird looks, I kept on shooting as the cars drove past. Getting used to all the traffic sounds can be a challenge for University students coming from a rural area. Here is a look at what those living on Lincoln Avenue hear everyday.

Both students also say that even as juniors, they had to get used to the noise again as the semester began. Lucky for them, they only have one year left of the Urbana noise.
