It’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month and wearing purple is just one of the ways Champaign is getting the word out.
The center for women in transition hosted a safety resource fair at marketplace mall this week.
It and the rest of the programs this month are designed to educate the community and celebrate the strength of victims.
Domestic violence is a leading issue in Champaign, and the rest of the nation.
One in four women will face domestic violence in their life.
